J.D. graduated from Bucknell University and now works as an Asset Manager at Pentaurus Properties, LLC. All three help out at the funeral homes in different capacities.
Dawn was a stay-at-home Mom for 18 years. In 2008, she received her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Burlington County Community College. When her husband passed, she assumed the responsibility of President/Owner of Moore Funeral Services, Inc. She is currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, N.J., a member of The Chamber of Commerce of Northern Burlington, a member of Downtown Bordentown Association, a member of Rotary International of Bordentown, N.J. currently serving as President, and she is also a member the Order of Eastern Star Bordentown Chapter #257.
When her husband passed away selling their family owned funeral home was not an option. They had taken ownership of Huber Funeral Home in 1998, but even before that her husband had been working with Bill Huber for 14 years. Keeping the funeral homes “Family Owned” was very important to her and her children so they could carry on the legacy of John D. Moore, Sr. Through the years, she had learned how Bill and “Sugar” Huber and John Moore took such loving care of the families they served when losing a loved one. They then purchased Mathis Funeral Home in Medford, NJ, in 2000, and opened Moore Funeral Home in Browns Mills, NJ, in 2001. She is proud to say that her staff is very involved in the communities with different organizations and supports the communities they serve in many different ways and have over 70 years of combined experience in serving families in their time of need. She knows the meaning first hand of how important it is to have a funeral home with professional and compassionate funeral directors taking care of all the details of honoring, remembering and celebrating in a meaningful way the life of a loved one who has passed.
In June 2016, her daughter, Hillary and herself attended intensive training in California to become Grief Recovery Specialists. They both felt that this was a very important way to stay actively involved with providing our families Aftercare. We feel it is very important to share the tools we have learned about with others so they too can recover from their grief. We provide Support Groups and a One-on-One format with The Grief Recovery Method.
In her spare time she knits sweaters, socks, and scarfs from the finest Alpaca fibers.
