Date of Notice: Thursday, October 2, 2014 William B. Pickering, 94, of Medford Leas, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mt. Holly, NJ. Born in Philadelphia, PA, William was raised in St. Louis, MO, he resided in Medford Lakes since 1967. He was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served during WWII in India. William was a lifelong Democratic Party member, and belonged to the Society of Logistics Engineers. Husband of the late Inga Pickering; brother of the late Emilie Brandhorst; he is survived by his two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Felicia G. Pickering and Stephen Wood of Arlington, VA, and Melissa B. and Roddy McClaskey of Medford, NJ; his brother, Jack Pickering of Albuquerque, N.M.; his granddaughter, Amanda Felicia; and five nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, October 6, 2014, from 10-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Memorial service will follow at 11AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William's memory to the National Parkinson Foundation, Penn Neurological Institute, 330 South Ninth Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104; or to the ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128-6804.
