Date of Notice: Monday, June 27, 2011; Courier Post, Mocksville EnterpriseTony Michael Lyerly, 65, of Medford, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011, at home.Born in Salisbury, NC, Tony was raised in Mocksville, NC, and resided in Cherry Hill and Atco, NJ, before moving to Medford five years ago. Tony graduated from Davie County High School, and went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in English at Campbell University in 1970. He taught English at Eastern High School in Voorhees, NJ for 35 years. Never waiting for retirement to travel, Tony always had a new adventure to share. Travelling, reading, and family, especially his grand's, filled the "Golden" years.He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Margaret (nee Regensburg) Lyerly; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Michael and Joanne Lyerly of Middlesex, NJ; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chad Kesser of E. Brunswick, NJ; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty-Gene and Marshall Edelman of Southampton, NJ; his mother-in-law, Mary E. Ruhl of Medford; and five grandchildren, Emily and Joshua Kesser, and Jacob, Colton and Trey Lyerly.Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, July 2, 2011, from 1-2PM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, (609) 654-2439. A Memorial Service will follow at 2PM, at the funeral home.Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony's memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
