Terrance M. Hartnett

Terrance M. Hartnett, age 72, passed away in the arms of his loving wife, Michel, at 10:45 AM, on October 7, 2015. Born on Christmas Day in Buffalo, NY in 1942, he is survived by his loving wife Michel Coonley-Hartnett and "Poppa Bear" to Emilee Ballinghoff. Adored and caring brother to Sharon (William) Campbell, Mary (Gary) Holzerland, they were known to friends and family as "Ter, Shar, & Mar," He also leaves behind, Brother-in-law Jon (Donna) Coonley, Robin (Mark) Ross, Tom (Sally) Coonley, Barbara (Bob) Lewis, and the late Christopher E. Coonley. Predeceased by his parents William M. and Kathleen V. Hartnett. Proud Uncle to 10 nieces and nephews, and Great-Uncle to 6 great-nieces and great-nephews. Terry was master of his profession and a pioneer in medical therapies, including profusion, counterpulsation, holds patents for currently used medical devices and the inventor of a specialized heart pump that assisted patients during open heart surgery. Long time residents of South Jersey, Terry retired in Sicklerrville and on any given day could be found fishing, playing golf, or mingling with the ponies. 100% Irish and proud of it, Terry was extremely well-pleased with his family's accomplishments in Irish Step Dancing. Services will commence on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 9:00 am at Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30AM, at St. Mary of Lakes Catholic Church, 40 Jackson Road, Medford, NJ. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery at Historic Medford Village. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Cardinal O'Hara High School, CIAO Program, 39 O'Hara Road, Buffalo, NY 14150.
