Date of Notice: Thursday March 22, 2012; Asbury Park Press with photo Ruth E. Smith age 88, of Neptune, passed away Tuesday, March 20th. Born and raised in Secaucus she lived in Ocean Grove before moving to Neptune in1950. Ruth was employed by the Neptune Tax Assessors office retiring in 1984. She was a former member of the Telephone Pioneers Club and pioneer clowns, and a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach, camping and travel. She was predeceased by her husband William B. Smith in 1991. She is survived by her son and daughter- in- law Ronald and Nancy Smith of Toms River; a daughter and son- in- law Linda and Gerard Larsen of Jackson; 5 grandchildren Brian Smith and wife Alicia, Kevin, and Jenni Smith, Ashley and Allison Larsen: and a great-grandson Nolan Smith. Graveside services will be held Friday March 23rd at 11:30 am at Monmouth Memorial Park 4201 Hwy 33, Tinton Falls, NJ. Moore Funeral Home Browns Mills, NJ are in charge of arrangements.
