Ruth Auxier Miller Oesterbo Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ruth Oesterbo, 91, of Mercerville died at Hamilton Continuing Care Center. Born in Superior, West Virginia, Ruth was a long-time resident of the area, living in Bordentown for almost 40 years, before moving to Mercerville. Ruth moved to Bordentown when her husband, MSgt (retired) Lawrence E. Oesterbo, deceased, retired from the Air Force. Ruth and Larry made a good life for themselves in the Bordentown community. Ruth worked for many years at the Base Exchange on McGuire Air Force Base making many life-long friends and acquaintances with her easy Southern Mountain demeanor. She enjoyed travelling to visit relatives and friends up and down the East Coast. Backyard picnics and holiday gatherings were a real joy to her because it brought together relatives and friends that they had made travelling in their military family lifestyle. Ruth especially loved working crossword puzzles. Friends kept her phone number handy to consult with her on especially difficult clues! She was also a word find aficionado, but extremely humble about that fact. Daughter of the late William and Alice Adams Auxier of Superior, West Virginia, Ruth was predeceased by a daughter Alice Miller, her first husband, Paul R. Miller of Calais, Maine, a son Chris Oesterbo, of Bordertown, her Grandson Carl Klotz, and her Daughter Joan Paulette Hynes of Robbinsville. Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters Una, Roy, Carson, Sam, Lacy and Jack. She is survived by a son, William Miller and wife Marylou of Mercerville and five Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Sean Miller of Mercerville; Jeff and LynnAnn Miller, of Wayne, NJ and their children Nicholas and Daniella; Douglas and Jenny Miller of Silver Spring, MD and their children Rachel and Brian; Lauren and Andre Borican of Mercerville and their children Eric and Ethan; Karin Deutsch of Princeton, NJ. Survived also by beloved nieces Barbara and Robin Holmes, Beth Ann and Gaye Sands, and Christine Oesterbo. In addition there are numerous nieces and nephews and their families scattered across the southern portion of the East Coast. The Family would like to thank the staff of Hamilton Continuing Care Center for treating Ruth like family and making her last months here much easier. A memorial service will be held at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, NJ on Saturday, November 16th from 10AM-12 noon. A short service will follow at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
