Date of Notice: Friday, March 4, 2011; Central Record, Hopewell Valley NewsRobert Michael Caivano, 87, of the LeisureTowne section of Southampton, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at home. Born in Zion, NJ, Robert lived in Skillman and Hopewell, NJ most of his life before moving to Southampton 19 years ago. He was a parishioner at the Church of the Holy Eucharist in Tabernacle, and a former parishioner at St. Alphonsus Church in Hopewell. Robert was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7103, a member of the American Legion Post 339, a volunteer with the Hopewell Fire Department, and a U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII. He retired from E.T.S. in Princeton and before that was a machinist for Rockwell Manufacturing Co. in Hopewell for 33 years.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florence (nee Nartowitz) Caivano; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert M., Jr. and Kai-Fang Caivano of Lawrenceville, NJ; his daughter Joan M. Caivano of Washington, D.C.; his sister, Barbara A. Petersen of Hopewell; and several nieces and nephews.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 11 AM, at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, (609) 268-8383. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Hopewell on Friday.
