Date of Notice: February 21, 2014. Burlington County Times. Robert J. Burton, Sr., 69, of Shamong, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Virtua W. Jersey Hospital, Voorhees. Born in Chicago, IL, Robert was raised in Chalfont, PA, and resided in S. Jersey most of his life. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1976 from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the 4th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. Robert was also Past Post Commander of the American Legion in Southampton. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dorothy (nee Swayne) Burton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert J. Burton, Jr. and Allison of Medford Lakes, and Christopher M. Burton of Shamong; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Eustace of Medford Lakes; his brother, Thomas Burton; two grandchildren, Robby and Kaitlyn; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, February 24, 2014, from 6-8PM, and again on Tuesday, February 25, from 10-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover, NJ.
