Date of Notice: Thursday, November 24, 2011; Burlington County Times Michael DiStefano, 84, of Medford, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Pittston, PA, he resided in Philadelphia before moving to Medford 35 years ago. Michael was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. He was the owner of Michael's Country Nursery in Medford. He belonged to the U.S.S. Coral Sea Association, and was a parishioner at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, a member of the VFW Post 7677 and the Medford Lodge #178 F&AM, all in Medford. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Eleanor (nee Aust) DiStefano; his three children, Lorraine Bodor, Michael H. DiStefano (Kathy), and John DiStefano (Charlotte); his brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Elizabeth DiStefano; two sisters, Antoinette Edenhofner and Lydia DiStefano; six grandchildren, Dominic, Jason, Alison, Michael, Eric and John; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 28, 2011, from 8-10AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd., Medford. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Michael's memory to Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Rd., P.O. Box 979004, Coconut Creek, FL.
