Michael A. Copeland

August 17, 1948 - December 24, 2015

Michael A. Copeland, 67, of Carteret, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Beloved son of the late Arnold and Anne. Dear brother of Kathleen (Alan) Keary, Maureen (Len) Victor, John (Doreen) Copeland, and the late Sharon Schwinn, James (Ruthann) Copeland, and Daniel Copeland. He will also be missed by 9 nieces and nephews. Michael was a 1967 graduate of Cherry Hill West, and was drafted in the US Army shortly after gradution. It was in the Army where he proudly served his country with the utmost distinction during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 1969 for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces on Hamburger Hill. Later after the war he took a job as a forklift operator for CBL Trucking in Delanco, NJ, and then until his retirement, worked for Gentek Building Projects in Rahway, NJ. He also was a proud memeber of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #493, and Teamsters Local 560. Relatives and friends may gather for a graveside service on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11AM at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
