Date of Notice: September 27, 2012; Central Record Justine Tina F. Schmidt (nee Flesher), 64, of Medford, NJ, passed away on Monday, September, 3, 2012. Beloved wife of 40 years to Robert Schmidt. Devoted mother of Alexander (Patricia) Schmidt and Justin Schmidt. Loving daughter of Constance (nee Morhauser) Flesher. Dear sister of Paul (Gail) Flesher and sister-in-law of Richard and Mary (nee Schmidt) Read. Justine attended Sterling High School before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). She taught third grade in Audubon, NJ, for a number of years following graduation. She was a long-time member of the Haddonfield Friends (Quaker) Meeting before moving to Medford, NJ, where she then joined the Medford Friends Meeting, eventually serving as the Meeting's Clerk. A loving and devoted wife and mother, it was Tina's family and friends who provided her with the ultimate joy and happiness in life. She drew special enjoyment from ballet (at all levels), music, entertaining, cooking, gardening, and the constant unselfish giving of herself to others. It is the last of these for which she will be most remembered. A memorial to celebrate Tina's life will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 11:00 AM at the Medford Friends Meeting House, 14 Union St., Medford, NJ. All relatives and friends are invited to gather to recall and share their own remembrances. Interment of her cremains will be at a later date and will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Tina's name either to the foundation known as Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer (ovationsforthecure.org) or to the Medford Friends Meeting itself, where an educational fund will be established to help deserving students and families.
