Date of Notice: Wednesday, May 9, 2012; Star Ledger Joseph M. Cackowski, 85, of Marlton, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Care One at Evesham, Marlton, NJ. Born in Jersey City, he was a former resident of Old Bridge for 30 years, Philadelphia for 30 years, before moving to Marlton. He was a graduate of PACE University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. Joseph was a Veteran of WWII having proudly served his country with the United States Navy. He retired from Garfield and Williamson in Philadelphia, where he was employed as a Regional Sales Manager. Joseph was a parishioner at St. Patrick's RCC in Philadelphia and was an inventor with 2 patents. He was a proud supporter of every activity and sporting event that his grandchildren were a part of. Joseph received a trophy from his grandson's soccer team where he was affectionately known and "Pop" to all the players and coaches. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Margaret A. (nee Rienzi) Cackowski; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Cackowski and Thomas DeLorenzo, Cynthia and Douglas O'Connell, and Ann and James Martin; 3 grandchildren Gage, Luke and Alexis; one brother and sister-in-law Walter and Pat Cackowski; two sisters and one brother-in-law Scarlett "Kitty" Cummings and Terri and Richard McMahon; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 10-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Memorial service will follow at 11AM, at the funeral home.
