Date of Notice: Sunday, December 23, 2012; Philadelphia Inquirer John "Jack" Crain, 82, of Willingboro, passed on Friday , December 21, 2012. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jack graduated from Germantown Academy and attended Penn State. But that wasn't the path, Jack wanted to follow. He enlisted and proudly served in the Merchant Marines for 36 years. Living the life of a sailor, Jack traveled the world, discovering new, exciting places and meeting interesting people , forming friendships that lasted his lifetime. Jack enjoyed the good fortune of loving his career with ARCO. For over 30 years, Jack was an advocate for peace, attending rallies all over the world. Jack lived life to the fullest and he leaves a legacy of love and laugher to all. Jack was pre-deceased by his parents, Annie Louise (nee May) and Harry A. Fields, his wife Eleanor Crain, his brother, Thomas. He is survived by his brother Richard and his wife Anne Fields; their children, Sarah, Alison, Rachel and Heather. His sister in law, Cordelia Crain ? Purdy and her children, Thomas, Terry and Cynthia; and his nieces, Beth Anne, Donna and nephews, David, Phillip and Kenny. All services will be held privately by his family. Arrangements are under the direction of Mathis Funeral Home, Medford, NJ.
