Date of Notice: Wednesday, January 29, 2014; Burlington County Times James Griffin Meyer, 72, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2014, at the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ. Born in Higginsville, MO, James resided in Hackettstown and Linden, NJ most of his life. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. James retired from the Federal Government as a Traffic Management Specialist at the Picatiny Arsenal, NJ, after 33 years of outstanding service and recognition to his contribution to the Defense Contract Management Agency. Son of the late Joseph and Mary Meyer; he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Elizabeth Meyer of Independence, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Armand Palatucci of Medford, and Margaret and James Koenig of White Bear Lake, MN; five nieces and one nephew, Cindy, Sheri, Christine, Brian, Deborah and Melanie; and five great nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 9-10AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30AM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd., Medford. Interment will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 11:30AM, in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
