Date of Notice: Tuesday Nov. 4, 2014. Philadelphia Inquirer, Courier Post. James J. Danna, 78, of Southampton, NJ, and formerly of Gloucester, Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Beloved husband of Jovita (nee Mazzola). Loving father of Mark (Sandra) Danna, and Michele (Jamie) Christopher. Dear brother of Nancy (Walt) Schwenk, Mildred (Leonard) Muscelli, John (Vivian) Danna, Joanne Danna and cousin of Sam Mami. Proud grandfather of James, Jake, Lexie and Avery. James retired from the Philadelphia Naval Yard as a professional engineer, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and enjoyed fishing, the Jersey Shore and spending time with his grandchildren. Relatives and friends may gather on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 7-9PM, and again on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 9-10:30AM at Mathis Funeral Home 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ 08055. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM, at St. Joan of Arc Parish, 100 Willow Bend Rd. Marlton, NJ 08053. Interment will be held Monday November 10, 2014 at 1PM at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
