Landers, Jr., 81, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2013, at home. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, George resided in Lenola and Pennsauken, NJ, before moving to Medford 27 years ago. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served during the Korean War. George loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed travelling and read historical biographies. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church in Medford. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice (nee Geisel) Landers; his son, Gerard "Jerry" Landers; three daughters, Donna Obrzut, Sharon Morgan and her partner Barbara, and Dianne Barrale; his sister and brother-in-law, Anna May and William Willis; six grandchildren, Philip, Steven, Thomas "TJ", Jared, Allison and Luke; the most perfect great-grandfather of Bradley; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 20, 2013, at 10:30AM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd., Medford. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in George's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
