Date of Notice: Tuesday , October 2, 2012; Newspaper: Trenton Times Gary M. Smith, age 58, of Columbus, NJ passed away suddenly on September 28, 2012. Gary proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years, both on active duty and with the Air National Guard, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was employed as an Automotive Technician at Coleman Auto Group in Ewing for 27 years and served as the Shop Steward for the Teamster's Local Union # 35 . He was an active member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees. Gary was an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 45 in Columbus. He was an avid bowler, and over the years, participated in many tournaments and leagues in the Ewing and Trenton areas. A strong willed, genuine, caring, and dependable man, Gary was full of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and yearly trips to Canada. Family was always first and foremost in Gary's life and his two sons truly were the light of his life. He will be deeply and sadly missed by all. Beloved husband of 21 years to Barbara (nee Bowen), devoted father to Jamie and Bo Smith, dear brother of Sharon (John) Manfredi and Richard (Robin) Smith, brother in law of Debbie (Louis) Zelle, Gary is also survived by many nieces, nephews , friends and his faithful companion, Buddy. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Edna (nee Davies) Smith. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown and Friday October 5, 2012 from 10 AM ? 11 AM at the Chesterfield Baptist Church, 209 Matthews Lane, Chesterfield, NJ. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM Interment will be held privately at theBrigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery,350 Provinceline Rd., Wrightstown.
