Doris Virginia Anderson, 89, of Medford, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Bridgeport, CT, Doris resided in Dunellen, NJ most of her life before moving to live with her nieces in Medford and Medford Lakes. She received her Master's Degree from Seton Hall University, and went on to teach many years at Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights, NJ. After her retirement, she continued to substitute well into her 70's. Her students still called her to this day. She enjoyed going to Senior Care in Marlton, NJ, where she made many friends. Doris enjoyed being active and loved golf, skiing and travelling. She loved life, treated her nieces and nephews like her own children, and will be sorely missed by her many friends and family members. She is survived by her five nieces and two nephews, Mary Ann Driscoll, Michael Vail Levinsky, Susan Vail Woelpper and her husband John, Randy Van Sant and her husband John, Trey Anderson, Jim Anderson, and Cindy Blain; her sister-in-law, Jo Anderson; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and her beloved friend Bella. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doris' memory to the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20090-6929.
