Dennis Bruce Yersak, 55, died Wednesday at his residence in the presence of loved ones. Born in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in Maple Shade, NJ, he was a resident of Bordentown for the past 30 years. A graduate of Rutgers University in 1978 with a degree in Environmental Science, he recently retired from Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a division of JJ, after 33 years of service where he was a Senior Quality Engineer. A proud High Adventure Leader and Treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 13, he served as a mentor to many boys. In 2000 and 2004, he led the Boy Scouts, including his sons, on two 90-mile backpacking treks through the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed camping, hiking, biking, playing Risk with his friends, puzzles, caring for his fish, and walks with his wife, Ellen. He was a dedicated Eagles season ticket holder for almost 30 years and a passionate Phillies fan. Dennis was an avid bowler and served as Treasurer of the Latecomers Bowling League. He was a frequent blood donor, donating more than 14 gallons, and was a yearly participant in Race for the Cure. Dennis is survived by his parents, John and Elaine; his older brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Selma (Sue); his younger brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sheila; his wife, Ellen; his three sons and daughter-in-law, Neil, Chris and Barbara Jane (BJ), and Corey; one niece and five nephews. Visiting hours will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown and a short service will follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parks Conservation Association, 777 6th Street N.W., Suite 700, Washington DC, 20001; Compassionate Care Hospice, 11 Independence Way, Newark, DE 19713; or the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
