David W. Atkinson

July 31, 1947 - May 30, 2017

David W. Atkinson, age 69, of Mt. Laurel formerly of Medford, NJ passed away Tuesday May 30, 2017, at home. Born in Albuquerque, NM, David resided in Medford, NJ most of his life before moving to Mt. Laurel, NJ. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Early in his career David worked the family business Atkinson and Walton which was located in Lake Pine, he was later employed as a surveyor for Local 825 Operating Engineers Union, and after retiring was employed by Medford Township retiring in 2012. He loved baseball and was a dedicated Phillies fan. David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Helen Atkinson, and a brother James Atkinson; he is survived by his son and daughter- in- law Bryan and Janis Atkinson; his step son Earl Braddock (Tara); 6 grandchildren, Payton, Daryn, Avery, Jordan, Skylar, and Paige; his niece Abigail Atkinson; and his nephew Bruce Bunning (Margaret). Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday June 5, 2017, from 10 AM until the time of services at 12 Noon, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. Interment will be private in Colestown Cemetery.
