Chester H Mount Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Date of Notice: Wednesday, May 15, 2013; Central Record, Courier Post. Chester H. Mount, 87, of Medford Lakes, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Virtua W. Jersey Hospital, Berlin, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Chet resided in Medford Lakes since 1976. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII. Chet graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, MD. He retired in 1985 from General Tire & Rubber Co. after 30 years of service, and went on to work in Real Estate in the Medford area for over 10 years. Chet was a parishioner at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, Medford. He was a sports enthusiast, who enjoyed tennis and swimming. Father of the late Aldine, Tom and Neal Mount; he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeanne C. (nee Higgins) Mount; his son and daughter-in-law, Chester (Chip) H. Mount, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Florham Park, NJ; his daughter, Peg Mount of Marlton; two grandchildren, Andrew and Kevin Mount; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 6-9PM, and again on Friday, May 17, from 9-10AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30AM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd., Medford. Interment will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 10:30AM, in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Chet's memory to the National Federation for the Blind, 200 E.
