John “Harry” Benson, 64, of Shamong, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2007 at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ.

Born in Drexel Hill, PA, he was a resident of Cherry Hill before moving to Indian Mills 28 years ago.  Harry was accepted to Michigan State University on an athletic swimming scholarship before transferring to Villanova and receiving his Bachelor’s Degree.  He was a Parishioner at The Church of the Holy Eucharist.  Harry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.     

He is survived by his wife Margaret Benson of Shamong; two sons, John Benson and Robert Benson; two brothers Robert Benson of VA, and Patrick Benson of CO; three sisters, Mary Maycott of FL, Kathy Benson of NJ, Eileen Benson of CO and Peggy Mott of CO; two granddaughters, Ashley and Nicole; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 9-11AM at The Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, NJ 08088.  A funeral mass will follow at 11AM.

Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hainesport, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Harry’s memory to National Multiple Sclerosis Association, 1 Reed Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
