James E. Blakey, 84, of Medford, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2005 at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ.

Born and raised in Stanardsville, VA, James resided in Medford since 1972. James was a Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War having proudly served his country with the US Army. James retired from JB Foods in Pemberton after many years of service.

Husband of the late, Nellie Thompson Blakey; father of the late James E. Blakey, Jr.; he is survived by two daughters, Diane Thacker of Medford and Cynthia Vasques of Erial; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Tracy Blakey of New York; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Ashley, Sara, Joe and Amy; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Natalie; one brother, Zirkle Blakey of Stanardsville, VA; and many other loving family members.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, September 11, 2005 from 2-4PM at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main Street, Medford, NJ 08055. Funeral services will be held in Virginia on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 11:00AM.

Interment will be held in Stanardsville Cemetery, Stanardsville, Virginia.
