Dante Boccardo, 87, of the LeisureTowne section of Southampton, passed away Sunday, January 26, at Virtua West Jersey Hospital, Voorhees.

Born in Manhattan, NY, Dante was raised in Genova, Italy for 17 years before moving to Camden & Pennsauken. He retired to Sacramento, CA in 1979. Dante worked in the NY Shipyard & the Navy Shipyard working as an electrician on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk & the U.S.S. New Jersey before being transferred to the U.S. Mint in 1965. He retired from the U.S. Mint in 1979. After retiring to Sacramento, CA, he was employed part time with the Sacramento School Board for 10 years in Security. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 4991, North Highlands, CA. He is a member of the Church of the Holy Eucharist, Tabernacle.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary G. (nee DiCarlo); 2 sons & 1 daughter-in-law, Victor N. & Lorraine Boccardo of Cherry Hill, & Eugene Dante Boccardo of Washington State; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Sylvia M. & Albert J. Emers of Medford; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren & numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

Relatives & friends may call on Saturday, February 1, 2003 from 9-10 AM at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM at the church.

Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dante’s memory to the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd., Tabernacle, NJ 08088.
