In 1894 this house located
at 58 North Main Street in the Historic Village of
Medford, New Jersey was built. In 1956 Art & Kathy
Mathis purchased this property and converted this
residence into The Mathis Funeral Home, which has
now served the community for over 45 years.
In 1994 and 1995 John
Moore joined the firm as the Manager, and returned
in 2001 as a Funeral Director with the firm. In
1994 Kathy Mathis Gerber the oldest daughter of Kathy & Art
Mathis joined the firm as an intern, and became a
licensed Funeral Director in 1995. Carl
Hasson joined our staff as a licensed Funeral Director
in January of 2002 and was subsequently promoted to Manager
of the firm. In March of 2003 Scott
Larkin was hired, as a Funeral Director, to help
assist the families that we are privileged to serve.
The Mathis Funeral Home continues the tradition of personalized
service into the new millennium.
In 1988 an extensive remodeling project extending the size of the visitation
chapel with seating for over 100 people, a new
arrangement conference area, ADA compliant restrooms, and handicapped-accessible
ramp in the rear of the building. There is a spacious
parking area located in the rear of the funeral home. In June of 2001 a Meaningful
Memories selection room, and cremation
urn options selection rooms.
A memorable funeral service doesn't "just happen". It takes dedicated
funeral directors and knowledgeable staff long hours of preparation to provide
each family with the unique service they desire for their loved ones. The Mathis
Funeral Home offers many diverse services and merchandise serving all faiths,
which allows you the opportunity of custom planning a service to fulfill your
wishes and needs. Before, during, and after the loss of a loved one you can rest
assured knowing "our family will be there to serve your family".
